Kidstorical Costumes boasts an extensive collection, ranging from the Middle Ages right up to the 1970s. Particicularly well-represented is the seventeenth-century Dutch Golden Age (including a complete children’s representation of Rembrandt’s The Night Watch) and also the eighteenth century.
We also have a rich assortment of footwear, hats, and other accessories.
Included in our stock are actual authentic period items, and new costumes are made to replicate these as faithfully as possible. All items are made in our atelier, under the direction of Liesbeth van Muyden. Her passion for historical costumes and her experience of 25 years as wardrobe mistress and costume designer can be clearly seen in the detail of her work. Should you require a costume that is not in our collection, we are happy to create it by arrangement. If the costume can suitably be added to our collection, you would then not be required to purchase it, but only be liable for the usual hire costs. The rental price is dependent on the type of costume, and associated cleaning costs.
You can approach us therefore directly for any costume project, whether you are looking to purchase a bespoke costume, renting from our stock, or for hiring our services for dressing and styling on set.
